Why diets don´t work long term

1. Our body is adaptable
It adjusts to the enviroment / conditions that it is in, and it adjusts in a way to survive.
Therefore diets often just get your body into a state of being in whitch it preserves itself. Therefore it slows everything down. Slows your metabolism and in general it often just pushes our body into starecity mode. Therefore it starts storing everything. It starts getting rid of muscle, because muscle needs a lot of energy (food) to be maintained, but since the body recognizes, that it´ s not getting the energy it needs so it starts getting rid of all that is unnecesary and therefore muscle goes first. All of whitch starts working against you. A slow metabolism, muscle loss, less energy etc. This then negatively affects the hormones as well, which also impacts the over all state of our body, causing the diets to work against us.
2. Diets are not designd for the felame body
The cycle of the female body isnt a 24 hour one as the male body. Its a 28 day one. In each part of the cycle the body does diferent things and therefore needs different amount of energy (food) to function optimaly. Therefore being on a diet thats often based on the same amout of a daily food intake doesnt workwith the needs of the body. This once again gets the body into stress and therefore it holds on to weight since we dont give it the proper enviroment for it to naturaly let go of it. Because we dont work with the body and the bodys needs.
3. People focus on calories in calories out without realizing that not all calories are the same.
Ultra procesed food reacts differently in our body than whole foods do.
Highly procesed foods often full of artificial sweetners negatively impact the gut micro biome, which then impacts the whole function of the body and that affecs weight as well.
4. When on diets, people usually don´ t adress the root cause of the problem (of weight gain) which is often a mental problem (trauma)
Highly processed foods react in our body in a similar way as any addictive substance. Therefore people treat it as such. They use it as a way to deal with unresolved trauma, unprosesed emotions, feelings of unhappines, unsafety etc. Therefore its important to focus on healing the root cause of the issue as well in order to internaly regulate the body which then causes naturall weight loss.
